Known as The World’s Fastest Filker, Tom Smith has been known to write compositions at SF conventions to rder while stopwatches tick, and his faculty for verbal and musical puns is astonishing and occasionally painful….
Winner of more than a dozen Pegasus Awards, Tom’s the only recording artist to be featured on both NPR’s Sound and Spirit and The Dr. Demento Show. He’s the writer of the official chantey for Talk Like A Pirate Day.
Tom is NOT your ordinary comedy musician. With the lyrical complexity of Ashman and Sondheim, the vocal fireworks of Meat Loaf, the comedic timing of Robin Williams, and the dynamic physique of the Skipper from Gilligan’s Island, the only thing he won’t do is boring!
Marc Gunn,”The Celtfather,” is an award-winning Celtic folk musician. Armed with an autoharp, he riotously combines Renaissance festival fanaticism with Irish drinking and Sci Fi fandom into a satirical jam session between Weird Al Yankovic, Shane MacGowan and The Clancy Brothers. His shows are spirited fireworks featuring Celtic-style songs about hobbits, cats, kilts, Firefly, Star Wars, Star Trek, and joyful renditions of traditional Scottish and Irish songs.
Gunn has performed for over fifteen years at a variety of Celtic and folk festivals, Renaissance faires, science fiction conventions and events across the country.
“That Accordion Guy” from The Gekkos is one talented part of a group that strives to push the barrier between avant garde creativity & lyrics about Space Pirates, Zombie Apocalypse, & dividing by Zero. The keyboard squeezebox prodigy behind The Gekkos is Jared Claxon on accordion & guitar.
